About the EEA Grants and Norway Grants

The EEA Grants and Norway Grants are Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway's contribution to reducing economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to the strengthening of bilateral relations with the 15 beneficiary states in Central and Southern Europe.

For the period 2009-2014, a total of €1.79 billion has been set aside.

Key areas of support include environmental protection and climate change, civil society, children and health, cultural heritage, research and scholarships, decent work and justice and home affairs. Grants are available for non-governmental organisations, research and academic institutions and the public and private sectors.
