The NGO Programme in Malta has been lauched and NGOs in Malta can now apply for funding to strenghten civil society platforms and networks and for projects covering thematic areas like democracy, human rights and sustainable development. The application deadline is 12 July 2013. 

Norway has a long tradition with a strong civil sector. Voluntary organisations are an important part of Norwegian society. These organisations played a vital party in the political and social development over the last few hundred years. 

Around 440 applications were received in the first phase of the open call for project proposals under the Latvian NGO Programme. Just over half of these are now requested submit a complete project proposal within one or three months, depending on the area of support. The list of approved projects will be announced in July and September 2013. The total requested funding exceeds almost three times the available funding. 21 project applications for establishment of bilateral cooperation between Latvia and donor countries were also approved. 

A meeting at a conference on the other side of the world led to a successful EEA and Norway Grant projects between Romanian and Norwegian non-governmental organisations a few years later. Read more about the people behind the project, their inspiration, their experiences and the results! 

The NGO Fund in Portugal, the Cidadania Ativa Programme, whose primary objective is a strengthened civil society development and enhanced contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development, has launched six calls for applications. The deadline is 1 July 2013.
